the index is pretty lean leaving out a lot of words

For the most part, the book explained ideas in a simply format for all beginners. I wasn't as impressed that the publisher: used words not yet explained to define other vocabulary words, bolded vocabulary words aren't all in the glossary, the index is pretty lean leaving out a lot of words, and the math throughout the book generally isn't presented the best way possible. Overall, still a good book but there may be better options out there.

About the Author

Craig A. Mertler has been an educator for 30 years, 20 of those in higher education. He is currently an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the EdD Program in Leadership and Innovation at Arizona State University.  He teaches doctoral courses focused on the application of action research to promote educator empowerment, school improvement, and job-embedded professional development and also teaches quantitative research methods, introductory statistical analysis, multivariate statistical analysis, and educational assessment methods. He is the author of 20 books, four invited book chapters, 18 refereed journal articles, two instructors’ manuals, and numerous nonrefereed articles and manuscripts. He has also presented more than 35 research papers at professional meetings around the country as well as internationally. He conducts workshops for in-service educational professionals (at all levels) on classroom-based action research and on the broad topic of classroom assessment. His primary research and consulting interests include classroom-based action research, data-driven educational decision making, professional learning communities, and classroom teachers’ assessment literacy. Before teaching and researching at the university level, he taught high school biology and earth science and also coached track and volleyball. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling with his family and playing golf. Dr. Mertler can be reached at Craig. I received a "Rootooth" adapter as a Christmas present so I bought this book to expand on hacking Roomba. It is very detailed and easy to follow. The book assumes that you have some basic programming knowledge (i.e. MS VB, MS C#, MS C++, Java)to get the most out of it. You need to know how to compile and execute Java code to do the experiments in this book. It has some cool experiments and a lot of references to downloads for any utlities you will need to hack Roomba. I would highly recommend "Hacking Roomba" as a must have.

Roomba mods unleashed

Great book, I would suggest getting more than one roomba so you can mod one and still vac the floors. Top fun, all good info in one book, Yes you can get most of the info online but I think its better to have the directions at hand when halfway through a mod instead of rushing to look it up again link after link

A charming book for Moon lovers

As long as I can remember, the moon has enchanted me.

That slivery splendour shining down at me, I have always wondered what is it made of. How was it formed? What does it look like up close? How big is it? How far is it?

Through the years, those questions have been answered, but that did not mean the moon still did not intrigue me. I have collected books on the subject of the Sky. However, thinking I had every book on the subject I was excited to come across this little gem.

This book is a charming collection of facts, poems of everything you ever wanted to know about the moon.

The Moon Watcher's companion has a comprehensive encyclopaedia of lunar terminology. A timeline of lunar explorations and three sections that detail the moon's faces, phases, and known facts.

This book has put together a wonderful blend of myth, folklore, poems. It is beautifully anchored by l interesting lunar science.

This book is necessary in any Pagan/Wiccan's library or anyone who wants a little knowledge of that splendour in the sky.

Who knew that we have had such a long and wonderful relationship with the Moon? This delightful and beautifully produced book is full of information about the Moon in science, myth, and legend -- from cultures all around the world. I got the book as a gift and it's a great idea for a birthday, a ritual, or a celebration of "lunacy". You will never think of the Moon in the same way again.
